This is my first ever diaper cake. I made it for my amazing sister-in-law's baby shower. My little niece, Arihanna, is due in late-February and I wanted to do something really special. Since they already have most of the bigger baby necessities from my beautiful niece, Alyssa, I had to get a little creative.
*I did tons of research but almost every site or video suggested a different way of making the cake. (confusing) I decided to figure it out as I went along, so there may be an easier way of doing things. : )
Supplies |
Layer 1- with a Diaper Genie refill in the center |
Layer 1- Two receiving blankets rolled and placed in center. |
Layer 2- Layers stacked and dowels placed in the center to hold layers together. |
Layer 2- Top View- I placed onesies in the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th layers. |
Layer 3 & 4- Each layer was wrapped with a light pink thick wired ribbon. I also put a body wash and lotion in the bottom layer. |
Ta-Da! My first diaper cake! Final Touches: A super cute elephant, brown polka-dot ribbon, and a large pink bow made with the same ribbon used around each layer. |
