Baby Wood Update- Week 19
How far along?: 19 weeks
Total weight gain: 130 lbs (Lost 1 lb this week...gained a total of 10 lbs)- Ummm, well that walking I talked about last week hasn't happened yet but...hopefully this week. : ) I weighed myself as soon as I woke up on Saturday and weighed in at 130.2. That brings me down another pound. It worries me a little to be losing anything but I really think my change in eating habits is the reason for any loss.
Maternity clothes? Yes and Loving it!!
Stretch marks? No stretch marks & that little brown line that appears on the belly while pregnant (I know it has a very sophisticated name) has not appeared yet either.
Sleep: Sleeping pretty good. Hardest thing is NOT sleeping on my back.
Best moment this week: I think I am starting to feel the baby move but the still unsure. Everywhere I have read says it feel like tummy growls, popcorn, gurgling, or gas bubbles. Lol. Have I had any of these feelings- YES- but my question is how do you know it's the baby and not a gas pain or my stomach growling???
Gender: I think girl. Nick thinks boy. (We will find out Sept. 23rd)
Miss anything: Not really
Food cravings: Sweets.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing
Labor signs: NO!!
Wedding rings on/off: On
Mood: Feeling happy 99.9% of the time. While pregnant I think I have cried a total of 3-4 times but the amount of times I have been extremely pissed has completely surpassed that. I think my lack of patience has been the reason for this. WATCH OUT!!
Looking forward to: (a.) Anatomy Scan is scheduled for 9/23 @ 1:45. Nick and I are taking a half day, going to lunch, then finding out everything we can about this little one!! (b.) ACTUALLY feeling the baby move and knowing it's the baby. (c.) Breastfeeding class (November) (d.) Starting the baby's room.
Fun Facts:
- Baby Wood is the size of a Mango.
- It is developing a protective coating over the skin, called vernix caseosa. It's greasy and white and may still be on the baby at birth.
- Baby is working on it's five senses. Nerve cells for the sense of taste, hearing, sight, and smell are developing in the brain.

Baby Wood Update- Week 18
How far along?: 18 weeks
Total weight gain: 131 lbs (Lost 1 lb this week...gained a total of 11 lbs)- Hoping to start a little walking this week. : )
Maternity clothes? Yes!! I am a huge fan of leggings. I could wear them everyday!!
Stretch marks? No stretch marks...but my belly and boobs have been so itchy. I have been using Johnson & Johnson shea butter/cocoa butter gel in the shower but by the end of the day I am so dry.
Sleep: 8:30-9:00 has become my new bedtime. Still working on sleeping on my side.
Best moment this week: I had an OB quick check on Tuesday. The baby's heartbeat was 148-150 bpm which is the lowest it has ever been. She had a little trouble finding it which was a little alarming since that has never been a problem. (Personally I just think it was the doctor. : / ) Speaking of doctor....I met a new doctor of the team. She seemed very nice. I am also SUPER excited....we scheduled our Anatomy Ultrasound for 9/23 (Two Weeks).
Gender: I think girl. Nick thinks boy.
Miss anything: Not really...but I do miss eating whenever I want. I don't get to snack as much being back at work so when I eat dinner I can seriously down 2 portions. I am a real fatty!!
Food cravings: Sweets...I can't get enough. I think it's becoming a problem. (And the chocolate/sweet addiction continues.)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing
Labor signs: NO!!
Wedding rings on/off: On
Mood: Feeling happy and exhausted...again!!! I think this might be a reoccurring thing. A couple people have commented that I am glowing. This where I am at... I love being pregnant, can't take much bullshit, and would love to have a nap during the day.
Looking forward to: (a.) Anatomy Scan is scheduled for 9/23 @ 1:45. Nick and I are taking a half day, going to lunch, then finding out everything we can about this little one!! (b.) Feeling the baby...I could have sworn I felt something strange today (Saturday 9/7) for like a split second but who knows. The doctor says usually first time moms start feeling something during week 19.
Fun Facts:
- The baby is the size of a sweet potato or green pepper.
- Hiccuping, yawning, sucking and swallowing are happening.
- Baby Wood is twisting, rolling, punching, and kicking.
